Startup LUPA, founded in 2020 in Barcelona, Spain, plans to sell a small family of electrical models. The company is the "brainchild" of Carlos Alvarez, an enterprising Spaniard, who claims that in the period from 2015 to 2020 he worked in McLaren pilot test. LUPA has already announced the arrival of three cars: E26, E66 and E137. The brand has no ambition to become "premium" - the company wants to produce available electric cars.

E66 will be an electric van designed exclusively for the carriage of goods in the city. To this electric car, specially intended for delivery, ultimately join the E137 electric SUV. However, the first LUPA car will be E26, electric hatchback, which should be available for online order from next year. E26 supplies are scheduled for early 2023.

LUPA claims that the E26 batteries can be replaced by about an hour, which makes it relatively easy to replace the old batteries of a smaller capacity to new ones. Soon LUPA will offer the PowerHome module, which will fit the old battery. According to the manufacturer, this module can be used to store the energy produced by the solar panels at home.

Waiting for sales

LUPA expects that in the first year of sales (2023) will be able to build a total of 4,000 cars: 2,000 E26 cars and 2,000 E66 cars. In 2024, the company plans to sell 4,000 units of each of these two electric vehicles. E137 must be sold about 2,000 times in 2024. LUPA expects 6,000 units as E26 and E66 by 2025, and it expects that 4,000 E137 SUVs can produce by 2025.

The Spanish automaker is counting on sales not only to individuals. These models should also be assigned a place in the Craching programs and taxi services, such as Uber. As for the van E66, LUPA hopes to attract such customers as Amazon. LUPA declares that the plant will open in Uruguay in 2024.
