The Investigation Department of the UK in the Grodno region completed the investigation of the criminal case on illegal storage for the purpose of selling a narcotic drug, the official representative of the UK in the Grodno region Maria Trushinskaya reported.
According to the investigation, on September 21, 2020, a 44-year-old driver of the DAF car was detained at the state border of the Customs Service, who had more than 3 kg of cocaine with him.
- During the interrogation, the accused told the investigators that in the evening of September 16, 2020 he met with a man at a refueling station in Belgium, where the latter handed him a large batch of prohibited funds he had to deliver to Moscow. For the transport of drugs, a man paid 1000 euros. He also told that he hid the prohibited tool into his travel bag with personal belongings, as I thought it would not be checked, "Mary Torushin said.
When studying the identity of the detainee, it was established that he was repeatedly tried, including for the illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs in the territory of the Russian Federation.
The investigator was interrogated by the accused and witnesses, a number of expert research was conducted, the conclusions of which were studied and are introduced to the criminal case materials, a number of international requests for legal assistance were sent to establish partners of the accused. The volume of a particularly dangerous drug seized by more than 1200 times higher than the large size.
The actions of the men are qualified under part 3 of Art. 328 (illegal for the purpose of selling the acquisition, storage and transportation of specially dangerous drugs in a large scale committed in the group of persons) and Part 2 of Art. 328-1 (illegal movement across the customs border of the Eurasian Economic Union of particularly dangerous drugs in a large amount committed in the group of persons under the preliminary conspiracy) of the Criminal Code. The accused is applied a preventive measure in the form of detention.
The UK reported that the investigation of the criminal case was completed, the materials were transferred to the prosecutor to send to court.
