Unmanned technologies are increasingly used in the military sphere. One of the most unusual developments in this area can rightly be considered a robotic complex TYPE-X. The sixth of January is his developer - the Estonian company Milrem Robotics - started tests of new items.

The platform successfully demonstrated the ability to move and maneuver. While we are talking about a test sample, however, in the future, Milrem Robotics hopes to create a full-fledged battle machine on its basis, which may be destined to make a mini revolution in the armored sphere.

Recall the prototype Type-X was shown last year. Full combat mass of cars - 12 tons. The length is six meters. Externally, it looks like a tank or BMP. As reported earlier, a tower with a 25- or 30-millimeter tool is considered as the main option of the payload (50mm is possible) and a 7.62 millimeter caliber machine gun.

Presented previously sample is equipped with a combat module Cockerill Protected Weapons Station Gen. II (CPWS II) from John Cockerill. It has a 25-mm gun Northrop Grumman Bushmaster M242 and a paired 7,62-millimeter machine gun. There are also two dumping launchers for anti-tank controlled missiles. As you can see, TYPE-X tests began without this module.

It is assumed that the unmanned "tank" will be able to boast of good driving qualities: thanks to a hybrid diesel-electric power plant, it will be able to develop the speed of up to 80 kilometers per hour. The diesel generator and electric motors are in the stern part, and the batteries in the front. The chassis received seven rollers per board. The stroke reserve is up to 600 kilometers.

Recall that in Russia at different times they were talking about creating unmanned versions of existing samples of armored vehicles: in particular, the idea of creating an unmanned car on the basis of T-90 tank was considered (perhaps considered).

It is also known about the study of the concept of a fundamentally new unmanned tank and a whole family of other barking combat vehicles. At the same time, Russian specialists doubt that such samples will be able to replace the platform managed by the crew in the foreseeable future.
