At the heart of the settlement - the right of Artsakh residents for self-determination. Commentary Foreign Ministry in connection with the resolutions of the European Parliament 22463_1

The European Parliament not only condemned war crimes, including attacks on the civilian population and infrastructure, places of worship, but also stressed that these crimes should not remain unpunished, the press secretary of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, commenting on the annual report-resolutions adopted by the European Parliament Policy and security policies (OSPB) and "General Security and Defense Policy (OSPB)", which contain provisions on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and role of Turkey.

"Reports adopted by the European Parliament contain a number of important provisions relating to Azerbaijani aggression against Artsakh, involvement in Europe, perfect military crimes, steps that need to be taken to eliminate the consequences of aggression, especially in part of humanitarian issues.

We attach particular importance to the fact that the European Parliament not only condemned war crimes, including a targeted shelling of civilians, infrastructure facilities and religious places, but also stressed that these crimes should not be unpunished.

We agree with the appeal of the European Parliament due to the fact that Turkey should refrain from any intervention in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, including the provision of military support to Azerbaijan and refuse its destabilizing actions. In this context, it is especially important that the European Parliament also condemned the fact of transfers to Turkey foreign armed terrorists from Syria and other places in the zone of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

I would like to emphasize the position of the European Parliament on Humanitarian Affairs, in particular, with respect to the immediate return of prisoners of war. It should be noted that the safety issues of the people of Artsakh, the protection of historical and cultural and religious heritage are properly reflected in the resolution. It is also extremely important that the European Parliament spoke from the position of the provision of unhindered humanitarian assistance to Artsakh.

We attach the importance to the efforts of the international community in the form of such resolutions that encourage the elimination of the causes and consequences of the war, which, according to the resolution, also involves the "long-term decision of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chair and the definition of the future legal status of Artsakh on the basis of the basic principles proposed by co-chairs "

As once again confirmed by this authoritative international structure, the basis of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is the right to the people of Artsakh for self-determination and security, "is emphasized in the comments.
