Lukashenko: Belarus will adopt China's experience in the IT sphere

Belarus will adopt China's experience in the development of IT-sphere, said the President of the Republic Alexander Lukashenko on March 16. He also revealed what changes are waiting for the IT-industry of Belarus.

Belarus will maximize the experience of China in building a digital society, said at the meeting on Tuesday the President of the country Alexander Lukashenko. According to him, now the decree is already preparing for this. Lukashenko reported that such measures are needed in connection with the presence of "certain problems" in the industry.

The head of state stressed the growing influence of information technologies in the modern world: actions, and sometimes just public statements by the management of digital giants have become significantly influenced by traditional industries: automotive, transportation, logistics, services, cosmic developments

"In some countries, IT corporation instruments are actively and unfinished in political processes - it is familiar to us. Those who released all these processes from under control are now reaping the relevant fruits, "the Belarusian leader reminded.

Lukashenko also appreciated the development of the sphere of digital technologies in Belarus. According to him, companies operating in it are ahead of the majority of traditional industries. "The currency revenue, which enters the country due to their work, has become a significant factor in financial, and therefore pricing sustainability," the president clarified.

The Belarusian leader noted that for the further development of the IT industry in the republic, its legal regulation must be improved. In particular, currently the IT industry and the field of finance are closely connected. For this reason, the government of Belarus, the KGB and the National Bank offer to establish a "necessary level of control" over the new sphere of financial transactions, including cryptocurrency. In this regard, Lukashenko recalled that in 2017 Belarus became the first country in the world, which legalized cryptocurrency activities.

According to the meeting, the first deputy prime minister Nikolai Snopkov, in Belarus, it is planned to form a single state authority for the regulation of the digital sphere. An integrated solution of this issue is planned to return in the summer of this year.
