This is a common myth. Now alcohol is sold in all major trading networks - both in Auchan and Metro and in Pyaterochka and "Crossroads". All these retailers buy wines from wine-trading companies, as well as specialized networks like "fragrant world" or "red and white". Large networks are unprofitable to risk a license for the sake of the shadow trade alcohol, because they have a very big turn, and the fraud will quickly cause problems. But in a small nameless tent a risk of meeting the fake really exists.
How to choose wine in a supermarket?
• Cork - not the main thing. Now there are many good wines that are closed by plastic corks or just a dumping lid. Some countries have completely abandoned the use of cork plugs.• Read the label. The grape variety must be written on it. If something blurry is written there, like "from the best varieties", then most likely wine is made of residues. The exception is French wines, there will be no grape variety, but the region of manufacture.
• Age is not an indicator. This is another common stereotype. Pay attention to the date of bottling (it is filling, not a crop). If more than three years have passed from this date, most likely such wine is not better quality.
• More expensive - not always better. European wines are far from always match the quality of their price. The optimal price range for young wines is 300-1000 rubles.
