The third generation Mazda6 was published in 2012, and by 2022 he will be ten years old. In 2018, the sedan has undergone one of the deepest restyings in the history of the brand, thanks to which his appearance completely changed, making it almost new. The Mazda6 of the Future will stand out by its modern design inside and outside.

A little more than a year ago, the Japanese company confirmed that the production of Mazda6 fourth generation will begin at the beginning of 2022. A completely new model that will use a platform specially developed by Mazda, with a rear power layout and a longitudinally located engine, will be located on the top of the European Premium Line.

As a basis for the design of the next Mazda6, the Japanese automaker will take the concept car Mazda Vision Coupé, presented at the Tokyo Motor Show 2017, awarded the title "Concept-Car of 2018". The demo version of a large luxurious sedan with at the same time elegant and sports design, relies on cleaner and modern lines. The "Code" design style will continue to be one of the priorities, with inclined headlights that will merge with a large front grille.

Mazda will offer an ultra-modern interior that will follow the same line as in the last generation of compact cars, with a minimalistic dashboard design, a large screen on the central console, as well as connectivity, equipment to ensure comfort and safety and the arsenal of driving helpers.

The new Mazda6 is designed to confront German premium cars in Europe, especially BMW and Mercedes. The novelty will appear in the European market in the second half of 2022, offering a number of gasoline and plug-in hybrid options, including a version with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder turbo engine, new SkyActiv-X and PHEV. In the upper part of the line will be a new 3.0-liter row six-cylinder gasoline engine with a capacity of 400 hp.

As for diesel options, Mazda has developed a new 48-volt 3.3-liter MHEV engine, although its presence in the new model range Mazda6 is not confirmed. The company realizes that new emission standards are becoming more stringent, so it will offer a diesel version in those markets where possible.
