Designed as a "Live Laboratory", Woven City will serve as a house for permanent residents and researchers who can test and develop such technologies as autonomy, robotics, mobility, smart home and artificial intelligence in real conditions.

For the design of Woven City Toyota, I used the services of the Danish architect by Bjarke Ingels, General Director of Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG). His team in BIG has developed many loud projects: from 2 World Trade Center in New York and Lego House in Denmark to Google Mountain View and headquarters in London.

To move residents in the city on the main transport highways, only completely autonomous vehicles with zero emissions will be allowed. All over Woven City Autonomous Electronic Toyota Machines will be used for transportation and delivery, as well as for mobile retail.

Woven City will have three types of roads intertwined with each other: one is intended for autonomous vehicles, the second - for pedestrians, and the third - for pedestrians with personal mobile machines. There will also be one underground road for the carriage of goods. Initially, about 360 people will live in the city, mostly older people, families with young children and inventors, and ultimately it will grow to more than 2,000 people, including Toyota employees. Woven City infrastructure is aimed at creating a medium in which inventions capable of solving social problems.
