The Polish Office reported that the documents were received from the Investigative Committee of Belarus to the extradition of Stepan Putilo and Roman Protasevich.

"Documents relating to the request for the authorities of Belarus on issuing two Belarusian citizens transferred to the relevant prosecutor's office for the purpose of processing in accordance with the provisions of the Agreement between Poland and Belarus on legal assistance and legal relations on civil, family, labor and criminal cases of October 26, 1994. On February 7, it became known that the SK Belarus through the Prosecutor General sent documents to Poland to extradite Stepan Putilo and Roman Protasevich.

"We have an international treaty on criminal proceedings, which also regulates the issue of extradition. We will see how important this state will fulfill the international obligations on issuing persons who are prosecuted by the Belarusian Investigative Committee in a criminal procedure, "Mikhail Vavulu said the head of the International Legal Department of the Investigative Committee.

Recall, Stepan Putilo is the founder of the popular telegram channel, which last year was recognized as an extremist in court decision. Roman Protasevich was his editor-in-chief.

In early November, the press service of the Investigative Committee reported that the Office continues to investigate the criminal case on mass riots and other violations of the public order that took place in Minsk from August 9 to the present.

Regarding Stepan Putilo and Roman Protasevich, decisions were made to bring them as accused of organizing mass riots and group actions, roughly violating public order, Art. 293, Art. 342 of the Criminal Code of Belarus.

"In addition, a criminal case was initiated against these persons under Part 3 of Art. 130 of the Criminal Code of Belarus in connection with the commission of intentional actions aimed at the initiation of social hostility on the basis of professional affiliation concerning two professional-social groups - representatives of the authorities and law enforcement officers, from August to September of the current year through the telegram-channels created and managed by them, " Added to the department.

The KGB introduced Stepan Putilo and Roman Protasevich to the list of organizations and individuals involved in terrorist activities.
