Aston Martin can buy a BYD concern? 7217_1

The famous British journalist Joe Savar argues about the difficult financial situation of Aston Martin, although it does not have a direct relation to the team of formula 1, since these are different legal entities.

The cost of Aston Martin shares on the stock exchange continues to decline: a couple of years ago, they were estimated at 19 pounds sterling, at the end of 2019 - already 10, and now - only 1.85. Although the company's capitalization continues to exceed 2 billion pounds, while her serious debts are about 1.2 billion.

On the eve of the Pages of the Chinese Business Online Edition East Money, there was an assumption that a large automotive concern byd from Headquarters in Shenzhen is preparing to acquire Aston Martin for 4.1 billion pounds.

At the same time, the BYD has a joint company with a German concern Daimler on the production of a premium electric vehicle under the Denza brand, which are sold only in China. In addition, at the end of October, Mercedes-Benz plans were announced to increase its share in Aston Martin C 2.6 to 20% in the framework of the expansion of technological cooperation between the two companies: there are engines of the Stuttgart Concern on British sports cars.

By the way, the Chinese company Geely competing with BYD also claimed the Aston Martin shares, but in the end they got the consortium of investors, organized by Lawrence Roll, who owns the Formula 1 team, then still speaking in the championship as Racing Point.

But last fall, the British government decided for 2030 to completely prohibit sales of cars with gasoline and diesel engines to stimulate the production of electric vehicles. Some versions of hybrid power plants can be produced until 2035th, but then they will be outlined. All this puts the cross on the long-term prospects for the development of British autoinadundry in its present form.

Of course, if in a not so distant future on the production of luxurious electric cars and Aston Martin, the expediency of continuing the program in Formula 1 will be questionable.

However, on highly efficient hybrid power plants, the World Championship moved back in 2014, and since then they are becoming more perfect. There is no doubt that in the new generation engines, which should appear by 2026 or even earlier, hybrid technologies will also be used. And there are already bold forecasts that in fifteen years Fifteen formula 1 can be completely electric. But so far it is only long-term forecasts, and as for the closest perspectives and the situation in which Aston Martin is, it is not yet a fact that the version of the Chinese edition East Money corresponds to reality.
