On March 22, the Basmannaya Court of Moscow for two months arrested the governor of the Penza region Ivan Belozershev on charges of obtaining a bribe more than 31 million rubles, TASS reports.
Belozers was detained on March 21. On the day before, at night, the governor and his sons were searched. Together with him, the security forces detained a major businessman Boris Spiegel - the founder of the company "Biotek". Investigators believe that Spiegel paid Belozershu to receive preferences for state contracts.
According to the sources of TASS and RBC, Belozers received from Spiegel car Mercedes-Benz and the Breguet wrist watch for 5.75 million rubles.
