Women talked about their project

Ginny Mazino and Jackie Elliot founded the organization of Magical Missions, which gives sick children photo shoot with favorite heroes. About two Mama-girlfriends and their charitable project told Insider.

Jackie Elliot is a photographer, and Ginny Mazino is an insurance agent and a cosplayer volunteer. Five years ago, the general girlfriend asked them to arrange a photo session for her daughter, who celebrated the remission of cancer. Sick children attended the holiday. They liked the characters and props - to see smiles on their faces was invaluable.

Mazino and Elliot launched the organization of Magical Missions, which freely suits shooting for children fighting with cancer and other diseases. The organization has already conducted more than one hundred such photo sessions.

Baby Jackie seven years old, and Ginny has two children who are 11 and 13 years old. Sometimes children help mothers on set.

Parents are addressed to Magical Missions for various reasons. Someone wants to capture your child to chemotherapy. Someone just wants to please the son or daughter. And someone asks to add a photo of his deceased child to a beautiful picture - for the necrologist and for memory. "This is harder," Mazino said.

Girlfriends work with volunteers, charitable funds and various enterprises that help in carrying out a photo shoot - for example, with a firm that gives a rental dresses.

"We have created a wonderful community. Thanks to this, we offer various assistance to families who have recently learned about the diagnosis, "said Elliot.

If possible, Magical Missions suits the auctions of goods donated by representatives of local business, and thus collects money for the treatment of children.

Girlfriends admit that they have not easy. Ginny Mazino shared that she used to cry after meetings with children and their parents, but now she tries to focus on making a positive during shooting, like any Disney Princess.

"I seem to block these emotions and realize at such moments that it's all for them, and not for me," said Ginny.

Women support communication with families who appeal to them. "When you lose these children, they become part of your story," Jackie Elliot added.

The pandemic influenced Magical Missions, but his friends are still engaged in their work - they organize virtual events, such as video calls from Santa Claus, and continue to edit photos for families for free.
