Analysts "Avtostat" published data on car sales in the Russian market in January 2021.
The Russian car market began 2021 from falling, but at the same time he managed to be in the fourth place in the ranking of the largest car markets. According to the Avtostat agency, based on these National Associations of Europa Autocuses, the leader in the sale of cars in January was Germany, where 169,754 new cars were sold (-31.1%). Representatives of the Association of the Car Industry of Germany (VDA) note that the fall in the implementation is due to the epidemiological situation, due to which part of the car dealership remains closed. In addition, from January 2021, after a six-month decline, the value added tax was again raised, which caused a high level of registration of new cars in December last year.
The second place among the largest European car markets occupied Italy with an indicator of 134,001 cars (-14%). In the Italian automaker Association (ANFIA), there is a decline in sales with a smaller number of working days compared with January last year, as well as the continuing food crisis in the country.
The troika leaders closes France, where car dealers managed to sell 126,381 cars (-5.8%). Negative dynamics in the French market is recorded already the sixth month in a row. If, when considering the automotive market in Europe, we take into account Russia, then our country ranked the fourth line of the European rating. According to experts, 94,712 passenger cars were sold in Russia in January 2021 (-4.8%). On the fifth line is the United Kingdom, with a result of 90,249 cars and a decrease in sales to -39.5%. In the British Society of Automakers and Autodiets (SMMT), they stated that this is the worst beginning of the year since the 1970s. This is due to the fact that the showrooms are still closed. Remote sales are allowed in the country, which helped to avoid even more falling.
Also, "Avtostat" notes that the car market of Spain last month decreased by 51.5% and amounted to 41966 cars. In the Spanish Association of Light and Truck Manufacturers (AnFac), they said that this is the greatest drop in sales of passenger cars in history. The reason for this may be an increase in TC registration taxes, the completion of the fleet of update of the fleet, as well as the temporary isolation of citizens due to the "Filomena" storm.
