The Chemicals of the Perm Polytechnic confirmed the therapeutic properties of West Siberian oil: they found out which ointments on the basis of black gold most effectively heal wounds and remove skin inflammation.
Oil as a medicament is used for a long time. For a long time, balneological naphthalan oil from Azerbaijan and ointments were used in medical practice. Now the stocks of this deposit are almost developed. Therefore, we appreciated the promising of the rectangular factions of oil of Wesnosibirsk deposits, examined its anti-inflammatory and wound healing properties. Light petroleum products contain naphthenic hydrocarbons and are similar in composition on black gold from Azerbaijan, says Associate Professor of the Department of Chemical Technologies of Perm Polytech, Candidate of Pharmaceutical Sciences Ekaterina Baykovskaya.
Chemists received various fractions of oil and confirmed with the help of experiments their pharmacological efficiency. It helped to determine which of them are most promising to create medicines. Preparations can be used externally for the treatment of skin diseases, scientists consider.
First, the researchers received an aut-5 oil fraction from an industrial installation. Next, in the laboratory conditions, they divided it into narrower fractions. Based on each of them, chemists prepared ointment compositions.
Then scientists under the leadership of the Associate Professor of the Department of Physology of the Perm State Pharmaceutical Academy Svetlana Chashina conducted screening studies on laboratory white rats. The experiments were carried out in accordance with the rules of laboratory practice in conducting preclinical research in the Russian Federation and in compliance with the international recommendations of the European Convention on the Protection of Vertebrates and Ethics Requirements.
To estimate the ability of ointments to take inflammation, scientists applied compositions in the amount of 0.3 g on the surface of the rat surface 30 minutes before the inflammation modeling. After 3 hours, they evaluated swelling of edema, comparing with the control group. Chemists found out that Mazi coped most effectively with inflammation, which contained the oil fractions of AVT-5-0-60, AUT-5-95-122, AUT-5-122-150 and AUT-5-150-176. They helped to remove edema to 73.5% faster than when the ointment was not used.
To estimate the wound gas properties of the compositions, scientists were applied to wounds of 0.2 g of each ointment and compared the results with the control group of animals, which received the ointment base without oil fractions. A week later, the researchers rated the quality of the scars formed. The wound of ointment with the oil fraction AT-5-95-122 was most effectively healing.
Scientists found out: the more severe oil fractions contain ointments and the above temperature of their boiling, the more effective there are compositions. In the plans of researchers, study the heavier and dark fractions of black gold.
