BMW and Alpina officially presented B8 Gran Coupe 2022. The novelty looks instantly recognizable, but it differs slightly modified appearance with the front splitter with the Alpina logo, a black diffuser, rear spoiler and an extended color palette, which includes the colors of Alpina Blue Metallic and Alpina Green Metallic.
The most notable change is the set of 21-inch forged alloy alloy discs Alpina Classic, dried in the Pirelli tire specially created for this car. They hide the four-piston brake system Brembo with brake discs of 396 mm in front and 399 mm rear.
Finally, it is equally important, the model was equipped with a specially designed sports exhaust system of stainless steel. It allows you to adjust the exhaust sound and allows you to reveal the sound potential V8 hidden under the hood.
Changes in the interior are accent: covered with skin of the steering wheel Alpina, overlays on the thresholds with illumination and finishing from the glossy tree of walnut anthracite. The model is also equipped with an IDRIVE control system from a crystal glass with an Alpina engraved laser logo.
In addition, you will find inside the front seats heated and ventilation, the rear seats with heating and four-zone climate control. Among other features are a panoramic glass hatch in the roof, a ceiling cover from Alcantara and Harman Kardon audio system with 16 speakers. Drivers will also find a 12.3-inch digital dashboard, a 10.25-inch multimedia system and a color projection display.
Under the hood is a 4.4-liter V8 with double turbocharging, which was forced to 620 hp. and 800 nm of torque. It is noticeably more than that of the BMW M850i with a capacity of 523 hp, but a little less than 617-strong M8 Competition, both of which work with turbocharging V8. It is connected to an eight-step automatic transmission, which is characterized by improved internal components.
Thanks to these modifications, all-wheel drive B8 Gran Coupe can accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.3 seconds and develop the maximum speed of 323 km / h. The model may also run a quarter mile for 11.5 seconds.
Alpina B8 Gran Coupe also received an upgraded cooling system with special intermediate Alpina coolers. In the latter, the cooling surface is 50% more than that of intermediate coolers on the M850i XDrive Gran Coupe.
This update does not end, since the model is equipped with a specially configured sports suspension with EIBACH springs, reinforced transverse stability stabilizers, tougher supports of lower transverse levers and front bridge racks with hydraulic plants.
Among other features - differential of increased friction and an integrated active steering system, which allows rear wheels to rotate for 2.3 degrees.
