Shymkent textile enterprises - TPK Alliance LLP and Azala Textile received the status of productions included in the FEZ "OT -STRIK", the InBusiness.kz correspondent reports. This was a possible Bagodar change made by the Government's Resolution on the expansion of the territory of the free economic zone "Ontustik". Now factories, like other FEZ enterprises, will be able to enjoy tax breaks, which will reduce the cost of finished products and increase the competitiveness of domestic producers.

"Shymkent occupies a leading place for the production of light industry products in the country. We produce 25% of all the products of the country's light industry. At 328 light industry enterprises operating in Shymkent are provided with over 3 thousand people. Today in Shymkent there are four textile enterprises: TPK Alliance LLP (earlier Yuteks JSC, Melange JSC), Azala Textile, Azala Cotton, which can recycle cotton fiber. Only one of them is located on the territory of the FEZ "OT -STRIK" (Azala Cotton TOO), which enjoys a special tax regime. In addition, Shymkent is a lightweight cluster with a full cycle of finished product production, from tissues to fittings. Developing this cluster, we can compete with neighboring Uzbekistan. In this regard, we ask to consider the possibility of making the status of the FEZ to two light industry enterprises, geographically outside the FEZ, "said the director of Azala Group Berik Kadaraliev, in appealing to the Chairman of the NPP" Atameken "Timur Kulibayev.

Making factories to the FEZ rose repeatedly at all levels for two years. Manufacturers complained that unable to compete with Uzbek textiles, as those produce products much cheaper at the cost of shymkent products.

The question was solved with the profile ministries, and only on February 19, 2021, a new decree of the Government of Kazakhstan No. 78 was published "On Amendments to the Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated October 6, 2017 No. 624" On some issues of special economic zones ", which two textile enterprises - TOO "TPK Alliance" and Azala Textile are included in SEZ SEZ subzones.

Up to this point, 15 enterprises operate on the territory of the FEZ and 20 projects were implemented. Carpets, shoes, corrugated, cashmere, textiles are produced.
