Today, the European Commission suggested toughening the requirements for the rules for compliance with quarantine and passing tests to coronavirus.
Ilva Yuhanson, the EU Internal Affairs Commissioner: "Today, the European Commission has developed recommendations regarding travels within the European Union, as well as between the EU and other countries. We strongly recommend refusing all optional trips, especially in the regions with a high risk of infection, while the epidemiological situation in the world does not improve.
Our offer is based on changes in the epidemiological situation for several previous weeks and months. First of all, it concerns those countries where the virus mutations are identified, causing the greatest concern.
Last June, we offered a list of countries where you can ride. Unfortunately, since then their number has decreased. Our main task is to minimize the spread of the virus and ultimately reduce the rate of infection. That is why we offer new precautions regarding all those who arrive in the EU. "
New measures include the presence of a negative PCR test 72 hours before the trip, the ability to pass the test upon arrival in the country and the mandatory two-week quarantine. These requirements concern not only travel abroad, but also movement within the country. Such rules will significantly complicate the life of the teams of formula 1, which with the beginning of the European part of the season will constantly move along the continent.
In addition, the color scale has changed on the map, where countries and regions are marked by different colors depending on the degree of dissemination of COVID-19. The dark red is added to green, orange and red colors - for regions with high risk of infection, i.e. Those in two weeks have recorded more than 500 new cases of infection per 100,000 inhabitants.
