International Competition Smithsonian Photo Contest 2020

Smithsonian magazine published since 1970, first held his photo contest in 2003. Since then, the audience of the event has expanded so much that photographers from 207 countries and territories took part in 2018.

Photographers from all over the world send their best works in six categories: "Travels", "Mir of Nature", "significant journey", "People", "American Experience", "Changed Images" and "Mobile Photography". They are assessed, taking into account creativity, technicality, originality, operational response. The prize of the main winner is $ 2500; The winners in each category and the triumphateer of the nomination "Choice of the Spectators" are due to $ 500.

Applications are made free of charge annually from April until the end of November. The requirement for participants is age from 18 years and older. Further in the selection of the Winners of the SMITHSONIAN Photo Contest 2019, the Finalists Smithsonian Photo Contest 2020 and a number of memorable frames from the archive, where about half a million photos accumulated.
