On YouTube Channel ACADEMEG came the video of the next crash test with a pillar. This time, the test was subjected to Lada Vesta 2016 release. The domestic car unpleasantly surprised, demonstrating the obvious error of the designers.

Almost five-year-old "Vesta" got bloggers for 380 thousand rubles. It was one of the cheapest options in St. Petersburg: the minimum equipment, a mileage of 105 thousand kilometers, a pile of rust on the hood and broken before. But all this was not important because only the power protection of the sidewall was valid for the test.

After examining the car before her imminent meeting with the post, it became clear that her weak point was the main side member. The fact is that for some reason it is not solid, and the junction between the two parts is extremely uninforcedly located exactly in the middle of the body - just where the blow has. There were little hope on the door, there was little hope: there were no bars in the doorways - only one metallic amplification.

Finally, "Vesta" put on rails, pre-equipping her bunch of cameras and portable devices that fix the maximum speed. And she, by the way, turned out to be quite low - 39 kilometers per hour. Bloggers themselves noted that this is perhaps the lowest speed in the history of their project.

Nevertheless, as a result of the strike, even at such a speed, the car was blown as it should. All geometry glanced: the roof was brought, the doors reedded, the rear left wing went large dents, broke down the top rack and thresholds, and the front armors were noticeably shone to the side and the top. At the same time, under the hood, everything remained relative to "alive": the motor and the battery in place, nothing else happens.

It is noteworthy that "Lada" broke from the strike precisely in the place that spoke at the very beginning - at the junction of the spar. Obviously, the very presence of such a joint in such a place is a gross error at the design stage. Therefore, it is scary to imagine what consequences could be from a meeting with a pillar at speed, for example, 60 kilometers per hour.

By the way, a funny detail. It was the first time "shrewd" both front airbags. True, it is not entirely clear why with lateral impact. And even more surprisingly, it was the first time GLONASS worked as well: the dispatcher asked several times, is everything really good and do not need help. They probably received comprehensive information about the accident and damaged damage.
