Traditional artisans Fair "Kazyuki" in Grodno will open on March 6. Masters from all over Belarus and from abroad will present handmade products.
- This is the first fair in the season, so the wizard gladly participate in it: they missed and on communication, and by buyers. We are waiting for the participants not only from Grodno, but also from other regions of Belarus, as well as from Ukraine. Already about the desire to submit their products on "Kazyuki", almost 140 artisans said, "they told in the city executive committee.
At the fair it will be possible to purchase handmade products from clay, leather, wood, metal, straws. Represent work and artists. Find a unique gift, for example, by March 8, will not work, the organizers are confident. The solemn opening of the fair is scheduled for 12:30, although trade will unfold in the morning and will last until the evening.
Traditionally, "Kazyuki" can be participated in master classes. As planned, this time the blacksmiths from Grodno will demonstrate how horseshoes were created before. By the way, horseshoe, or rather, the gate in the form of it is the element of one of the revived rites of the traditional Fair "Kazyuki". There is a belief that if the first under this "Brahma Pospekh" will be a talented and successful master, then all the others who have passed under it will be fully accompanied by luck.
This year, the epidemiological situation has made adjustments to carry out almost all large-scale festivals and competitions. Not held last year the festival of national cultures was postponed to the next - festival of Orthodox chants. But "Kazyuki" will pass by the usual schedule. There are several reasons for this, the organizers say: the first is, of course, even if the pandemic decline and adherence to all security measures. The fair has long been one of the most significant events in the cultural life of the city. It is held annually in memory of the Holy Casimir - the patron of youth, masters and artisans. In Lithuania, "Kazyukas" (Kaziukas) is also widely celebrated. The main attributes of the holiday are ginkers with passages from the Gospel and specially decorated Willow branches - "Casirki".
