In Lenta, two types of paper bags designed for weight up to three and to seven kilograms are presented. For the manufacture of crafted paper, the wood of coniferous rocks or waste paper is most often used. In addition, the company offers customers a biodegradable packaging for purchases from corn starch, which is designed for a mass of up to seven kilograms. Last year, the Ribbon sold more than 2.3 million paper and biodegradable packages. This is twice as bigger than in 2019. At the same time, the sales of polyethylene packages decreased by 7 million.
At the end of last year, the company began to offer biodegradable bags for garbage bags. They are made of corn starch and do not contain plastic. Packaging is certified in accordance with the European standard EN 13432 as a safe compostable material. In the conditions of disposal without processing under the most unfavorable conditions, they decompose about the year without harm to the environment. In the industrial composting of waste, the expansion period of the material is from three to six months. The garbage bags are produced in the Republic of Belarus, in the hypermarkets of "Ribbons" two sizes are presented: on volumes up to 35 liters and up to 60 liters.
The commercial director of the service of the long-term storage period of "Ribbon" Peter Kostov noted: "We are constantly studying the trends and see that many buyers are worried about the environment. Therefore, we offer them a packaging that becomes a good alternative to traditional polyethylene packages. The number of people who are not indifferent to pollution problems increases every year, so we expand the range of eco-products. "
Buyers who care about nature, "tape" since 2019 offers reusable bags for vegetables and fruits, which are presented in all stores of the network. Most often they acquire residents of the North-West of Russia.
