Today, February 25, the parliament rejected the proposal of the Union of Green and Peasants (ZZS) to transfer to the budget and financial (tax) Commission of the Seimas of its intention to provide a one-time allowance in the amount of 200 euros, elderly and people with disabilities, writes rus.tvnet.lv.

The ZZS seboard faction called to establish that the payment should be carried out to those who have the right to the state retirement in old age, a disability retirement, a pension on the occasion of the loss of a breadwinner or a state social benefit, as well as "persons who are not entitled to state retirement in old age."

MP Maris Mozhardilo ("For Human Latvia"; KPV LV) called on to reject the bill, since the coalition already "occupied the position" that it supports these groups, and negotiations on its distribution are now very close to the final. The coalition agreed the amount of 20 euro benefits, as well as the type of support. "Support will be rendered. We are close to making a decision and return to the Sejm with the finished decision," said the deputy.

34 deputies voted "For" Appeal to the Budget Commission, 50 voted against, nine deputies abstained, as a result of which the bill did not enrolle in the commission.

It has already been reported that in the state budget program for unforeseen expenses will additionally be allocated 500 million euros, of which 100 million euros are planned to be sent to support various sectors of society.

Ramon Petravich's welfare minister earlier emphasized that in relation to a one-time benefit for some pensioners, they "very hope" next week to develop the relevant law. The easiest way to pay this manual is to establish a certain amount, and it has been said that this can be 200 euros, explained politician.

The minister recalled that the size of the pension to which a lump sum will be paid is not yet agreed. At the same time, during the discussions, questions about a one-time benefit to people with disabilities were raised, for which care was carried out, as well as children with special care.
