Volkswagen announced a new TAOS crossover for the Russian market a few months ago, but the details appeared only now.
In the Volkswagen Taos model range, it is positioned at the stage below Tiguan. Its dimensions are 4417x; 1841x; 1602 mm. Probably, for Russians, the model will be produced in Kaluga, whereas in Mexico, the production of the model started back in early February.
The competitor of models such as Kia Seltos and Chevrolet Trailblazer, TAOS cursover on the Tiguan base will be offered as standard with a digital combination of instruments and a two-color insurgency. The choice of top executions will add options such as the 8-inch screen of the infotainment system, the illumination of the near-door space and wireless charging for smartphones, and the front seats with heating and ventilation will be offered as options, double-zone climate control, leather upholstery, steering wheel and premium audio system.
TAOS design is rapid and dynamic. The unusual image of the front and the hood with a powerful relief attract attention, and the drawing of the LED running lights and the light strip, diverting on the sides of the logo, adds the formability form.
For the Russian market, the crossover will be offered with two versions of engines: atmospheric capacity of 110 hp In conjunction with 5-MCP or 6-ACP and front-wheel drive, as well as a turbocharged 150-strong motor in a pair with an 8-ac-automatic transmission or a front-wheel drive or a 7-ache and a full-wheel drive of 4motion. Among the functional equipment of the model are: a wide range of IQ.Drive driver assistance systems, adaptive light technology iQ.light, modern security systems, winter options, double-zone climatronic control, rain and light sensors, parking sensors in front and rear, atmospheric lighting, as well as a rear view camera with a washer.
The crossover will be offered in several configurations: Respect, Status and Exclusive. And at the start of sales, the Russians will be available to the special modification of JOY! - Special TAOS execution based on Status version and offering in the Energetic Orange and Cappuccino Beige colors.
Previously, Speedme.ru edition has already reported that the compact crossover will go to dealers in the United States by the end of the second quarter of the year. Prices are not yet announced, but since it is less than Tiguan, it will cost less than $ 25,245. Finally, after the start of production for the United States market, Volkswagen de Mexico will begin production in Canada in the coming weeks. It is possible that the model will get to the Russian market, where the competition will also compete with Hyundai Kona and Kia Seltos.
