Endometriosis is a fairly common gynecological disease, in which the cells of the inner layer of the uterus wall brightened beyond it, causing painful sensations.
According to statistics, endometriosis is diagnosed with each tenth woman in the world. But the diagnosis itself often occupies a lot of time - on average seven and a half years. One of the reasons for such a slow recognition of the disease is that women's pain often shine and understood.
Many women say that this is just a bad period that they need to wait. And doctors often ask for patients suspecting endometriosis, assess their pain on a scale from one to ten. But the pain is not expressed in numbers.
In March 2021, AMV BBDO advertising agency, together with Librass hygiene brand, launched a painting campaign during endometriosis and designed a virtual museum telling about this problem. Women were invited to participate in Flashmob and describe their sensations from endometriosis with words using tag #PainStories.
Here are some of these confessions:"As if someone twists my internal organs. And pulls them in different directions. "
"This pain is so deep that it does not take ordinary painkillers. I'm already completely exhausted. At the moments of sharp attacks, I can only lie on the floor and wait when the pain passes. I'm just trying to survive. "
"As if my uterus throws out painful networks into all my organs. This pain fully attacks my body. "
The agency also attracted several artists and illustrators to participate in the campaign. Some of them are familiar with endometriosis on their own experience. For example, Venus Libido describes the process of creating work for the campaign as a therapeutic: "I like that now, when someone asks me what endometriosis is, I can simply open my phone and show them this image. I will also show it to any doctor who will tell me that my pain cannot be so strong - after all, this is the usual phrase that many patients suffering from endometriosis, "said artist in an interview with IT's Nice Tat.
The organizers of Flashmob hope that their initiative will attract attention to the problem of the diagnosis of endometriosis and will push women who are only suspected of this disease, it is more likely to consult a doctor and earlier to get high-quality medical care.
