Switching rolling modes to the behavior of the machine does not affect much. I liked the Smart SMART version. It's nice that its settings are not reset when the ignition is turned off. Yes, and the electronic "nannies" at Hyundai is surprisingly good. The control system for marking does not lose vigilance even in the dark on the wet and dirty road. And cruise control clearly reacts to the travelers and slows down in front of obstacles.

The suspension has saved the predecessor architecture - the front McPherson rack and the rear multi-phase. But without modernization it did not cost. Engineers moved the attachment points of the levers, installed other aluminum fists. Rear changed the angle of the shock absorbers, which, besides, received the mechanism of auto-shock. But the main thing, the Santa Fe chassis has become more energy intensive. Now it is more difficult to "break through" on deep pits and ughab. At the same time, the crossover retains an elastic flow on a flat road. And only on gravel ripples or translated asphalt no, no, but a small shiver appears - such roads Hyundai still does not like.

There is progress and in terms of sound insulation. Especially - motor compartment. At idle diesel is practically not heard. Yes, and at speeds up to 120-130 kilometers per hour, it does not create excess noise. There is much more obsessing the "orchestra" of tires. Weakness! But in terms of savings, our Hyundai has proven himself an approximate family man. On the highway at rates 90-100 kilometers per hour, the average consumption was below 7 liters. In a mixed cycle (route, city and a little snow-covered virgin), it took about 10 liters per hundred. And only in urban mode with traffic jams "appetite" increased to 13.

What is the result? I like that Santa Fe is not trying to jump above and pretend to be what it is not. He does not break into premium, does not shout about exceptional off-road or driver characteristics. It is quite satisfied with the status of a comfortable, economical and stylish family crossover. With this role he copes perfectly.
