President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko proposed to revise the constitutional norm on the country's neutrality. He stated this on the All-Belarusian People's Assembly on February 12. Lukashenko also revealed how the Constitution will affect the concept of national security of Belarus.

The international neutrality rate can be changed in the new edition of the Constitution of Belarus, said the President of the country Alexander Lukashenko at the All-Belarusian People's Assembly on February 12. According to him, people from military and civilian departments have repeatedly proposed to change this item of the Supreme Law on the opposite.

"There is no neutrality, and, frankly, we did not conduct a course that would be rigidly related to the neutrality. Here is such a constitutional norm, "the president noted. He said that earlier this rate was not changed, since it is impossible to constantly rewrite the country's constitution, depending on the circumstances.

Lukashenko also stressed that it is necessary to change the constitutional neutrality only after the adoption of a new national security strategy. The President believes that only presenting new security requirements and discussed the issue with specialists, such changes can be made in the Constitution.

We will remind, earlier, the President of Belarus said that he did not see the reasons for abandoning multi-stately in foreign policy. According to him, despite the unfriendly actions of some states, "the path of confrontation is deadlock." Lukashenko also noted that multi-vector policy will allow to diversify international economic relations and ensure safety in the region.

On the eve of the need to discuss the issue of neutrality of Belarus, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the country Vladimir Makay reported. "In my opinion, the desire of Belarus to neutrality does not correspond to the current situation in the Constitution. In the modern globalized world, permeated internationalization, neutrality in his classical understanding no longer exists, "he said. At the same time, the minister stressed that Russia has always been a strategic partner of Belarus, so the country's foreign policy will be aimed at interacting with it and other CIS countries.
