History of "Titanic"
The ship was commissioned in 1912. Then it was undoubtedly the most huge, reliable and comfortable ship. Not in vain, he was called the "masterpiece of engineering thought." However, on the "Titanic" there were only two dozen rescue boats that could only accommodate 1178 people. Designed the ship by the head of the Wight Star Line project company, a certain Joseph Bruce Ismie. It was he who ordered not to load the ship by trash - for the sake of saving money and because of complete confidence in his creation. Although the missing boats could save another and a half thousand people - almost all dead.When "Titanic" flew at full speed to the iceberg, all unconsciously heard wild crosses and felt vibration. People ran out of their cabins, trying to learn what happened. The panic began. But there was one person who in all of this bustle kept full calm. He imposed on his cabin and squeezed whiskey. It was the very chef of Charles Jofin.

Perhaps it was the whiskey who saved his life. After all, as it is known, in a state of alcohol intoxication, all senses of person are dulled - and the feeling of the cold, and the feeling of imminent death. The deck at that time was tamed even more, and Charles hurried upstairs, capturing a flask with heating drink.
At this time there was no rescue boats, but it seems, Jofin did not bother it at all. Instead of rushing from the corner into the angle or screaming to the whole deck, he began to calmly throw away the wooden lounge chairs in the hope that when the ship would finally go under the water, they would use someone. After salvation, he again went to boil the sea, but after just a couple of years after the death of "Titanic" again became a member of the shipwreck. He served on the cargo ship "Congress" when a fire happened on it. True, this time the cook left him on the rescue boat. But after that, he did not give up and another ten years served in the fleet.
In 1941, Charles worked on the cargo ship "Oregon". The ship faced another ship and sunk. Then 17 sailors died, but the bakery again managed to defeat the element. A few years later, he was alive and unsubscribed on a well-deserved rest. 10 years after retirement, Charles Jofin died, a little bit of surviving the film "Unforgettable Night" film, in which his incredible story was told.
