A special interdepartmental working committee on the verification of the effectiveness of government agencies and local authorities in the fight against COVID-19 has discovered the shortcomings of the health system of Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the government. "As a result, vital drugs for the treatment of coronavirus were imported to the republic with a significant delay, which led to an acute shortage of drugs and price increases on them," the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers said.

The members of the Commission also concluded that there was no clear and transparent reception system in the republic and accounting for incoming medical humanitarian aid. Discrepancies were identified in the data on the assistance provided and delivered to the hospital. As it turned out, drugs purchased in June 2020 according to the second protocol of treatment, they were subsequently unused due to the adoption of the Third Protocol. "In this regard, significant amounts of these drugs have been found in the warehouses of the Department of Medicines and Medical Development of the Ministry of Health," the Commission noted.

According to the results of the investigation, the Commission proposed to make these facts and other conclusions of the Interdepartmental Commission for consideration by the Security Council of Kyrgyzstan for detailed discussion and public lighting. The Ministry of Health on the basis of the analysis and recommendations of the Commission is entrusted to prepare a plan of measures to eliminate deficiencies.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Health, the reorganization of medical institutions will be carried out, in which the centers of family medicine will be attached to territorial hospitals.
