The rich history of Russia knows times when the state rulers were two kings - Ivan V and Peter I. Such an unusual version of the compatibility appeared due to the young age of the heirs of the throne and their belonging to various kinds: Romanov-Miloslavsky and Romanov-Naryshkin. It was then that a confrontation unfolded between the two families.
Representatives of Miloslavsky pinned high hopes for the heir of Ivan V, but the king was ironically became the father of five daughters, without leaving no son after himself. Two senior girls died at an early age. What preserved the story about these two princes, which was never destined to achieve young years?
Maria Ioannovna
The older daughter of Ivan V and his wife Praskovy Saltykova became Maria Ioannovna, which appeared in the world in 1689 in Moscow. The head of the sovereign was baptized in the miracle monastery, and Uncle Peter I and the cousin Tatyana Mikhailovna were kingdom. The name Mary was traditional for representatives of the Romanov dynasty, and therefore saying for sure, in honor of whom the daughter of Ivan V was named, it is impossible.
Unfortunately, like her father, Maria did not differ strong health. A weak child lived a little more than two years, died in 1692. The burial of Maria Ioannovna was originally in the territory of the Ascension Monastery, in the future the remains of the princes and her relatives were transferred to the Arkhangelsk Cathedral.
Researchers note that in the burial of the daughter of Ivan V, children's clothing remained very well. On the baby, an elegant cafeten was put on gold and silver threads, there are fragments of an embroidered lower shirt. On a naked wedge, the princesses can be seen: "Holy God, Saint Strong, Holy Immortal, Pomerize us."
Feodosia Ioannovna
The second child of the sovereign was the daughter of Feodosia, who repeated the fate of his older sister. The girl, born in 1690, was named after His aunt Feodosia Alekseevna.
The measured icon has been preserved to this day, which was made for a newborn princess. Today, the image of Saint Feodosia is stored in the Tretyakov Gallery.
The inscription on the top of the sarcophagus states:
"Summer 7199 Maya at 12 Den on Tuesday In the fifth hour of the day for the memory of the saints Epiphany Epiphany Ermona, Prestavis, Burovander of the sovereign of the king and the Grand Duke John Alekseevich, All Great and Malya and Belya Rosia Self-Gorya and the Blessed Sovieties of the Queen and the Grand Duchess Paraski Feodorovna Dzhardovna Paracsevna and Great Princess Feodosia Ioannovna and buried Maya on the 13th day. "How easy it is to count, the second daughter of the king died before his older sister, in 1691. Tsarevna were buried nearby. In the burial of Feodosia, the ritual dish was preserved, which was put on the grave.
What caused the death of the descendants of the royal order? There is no definite answer to this question, but in the case of Ivan's daughters, V is unlikely to look for a catch. In those days, children often went out of life in infant age.
In addition, the surviving daughters of the sovereign, Catherine and Praskov, were safely matured and left a bright mark in the history of Russia. But their senior sisters, Maria and Feodosia, and remain forgotten, unknown princesses.
