The Basmanny Court of Moscow elected a measure of preventive in the form of imprisonment for two months - until May 20 - in relation to the Deputy Director of GBU "Representative Office of the Government of the Penza Region under the Government of the Russian Federation" Fedor Fedotov, accused of committing a crime provided for in Part 4 of Art. 291.1 of the Criminal Code "Mediation in bribery."

The corresponding petition of the investigator is satisfied during the meeting, which took place on Monday, March 22.
Prior to that, a similar preventive measure was elected against the governor of the Penza region Ivan Belozershev.
As IA "PenzaNews" previously reported, the criminal case of bribery was initiated against the governor of the Penza region Ivan Belozershev and a number of others, including the head of the Boris Spiegel Pharmaceutical Companies Group and CEO of OJSC Pharmacy Anton Karoskov.
According to the investigation, from January to September 2020, Ivan Belozerstsev received from Boris Spiegel, his wife Evgenia Spiegel and Anton Koloskova bribes through mediators in the form of money and other values worth more than 31 million rubles.
According to the ICR, the bribes were transferred for the provision of competitive advantages to the Group of Companies "Biotek" at the conclusion of state contracts.
On March 22, the investigation presented the accusation to the defendants: Governor of the Penza region Ivan Belozershu - under Part 6 of Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Getting a bribe"; Spouses Spiegel and Anton Koloskov - on Part 5 of Art. 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Cottage Bribes"; Deputy Director of GBU "Representative Office of the Government of the Penza Region under the Government of the Russian Federation" Fedor Fedotov and the driver of this institution Gennady Markov - under Part 4 of Art. 291.1 of the Criminal Code "Mediation in bribery."
