Outstanding artists, representatives of the intelligentsia and cultural figures of Latvia made a statement in which Azerbaijan called on the exchange of bodies, prisoners of war and hostages and their return to Armenia, reports the Armenian Embassy in Latvia.
The statement says:
"We, artists, intellectuals and figures of culture of the Republic of Latvia, confessing their faith in the importance of humane values and joining the initiative of our Lithuanian colleagues, we appeal to the authorities of Azerbaijan with a call not to impede the immediate return to the Armenian warrant and other detainees to the Republic of Armenia, and the bodies of soldiers, and killed in battle and killed during the recent Karabakh war. According to our information, Armenia has already returned to Azerbaijan of all prisoners of war.
We are confident that the unconditional and immediate return of all prisoners of war is one of the first steps necessary to restore mutual confidence between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia.
We call on the international community to join this humanitarian initiative, thereby helping to overcome the humanitarian catastrophe in Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh), caused by a recent war. "
