With a new 500x, called one of the greatest new products of 2021, Fiat will join a very specific market niche convertible crossovers. The brand confirmed that next year they will launch a new version of FIAT 500X Cabrio, which will increase the attractiveness of the Italian model.

The revolution, which is now going on in Fiat under the auspices of Stellantis and the leadership of French auto giant, already generates one of the first new products. FIAT 500X Cabrio is an unexpected combination from the Italian brand, which will become a reality in the near future. His appearance was confirmed by the Pietro Horle, Director of FCA in Europe, Middle East and Africa.

However, the new Italians project is a trigger in which they need an increasingly competitive segment and with a practically identical offer. The new Fiat 500X Cabrio will be a bit bizarre, but a more practical alternative to Volkswagen T-Roc.

To stand out among competitors, FIAT 500X Cabrio will follow the almost the same concept as 500c: This is an ideally stretched "canvas", covering the roof that is retracted automatically, albeit with an important nuance compared to the convertible. It is reported that the roof will be folded in the back of one layer on top of another, without leaning on the luggage door.

This is a relatively low-cost solution, as it retains all racks, including central, and therefore does not require additional gain costs, as in the Volkswagen model. At the same time, the rear door will be functional and can fully open. From aesthetic point of view, no major changes are expected, so the image of the original model will remain, which was updated in 2019.

500x convertible, which was reported, was already presented at a private event with a new three-cylinder 1.0-liter Firefly and a moderately hybrid installation with a maximum power of 120 hp, debuts this spring and will get to the dealer centers by the next fly, although Fiat officially did not confirm the timing. Its final commercial name is also unknown: at the expense of "500X Cabrio" and "500X Open AIR".
