Yes, the streets are mostly cleaned by the technique. And the sidewalks in the center are also cleaned with small cars throwing snow into the heaps of the edge of the road.
But in order for snow removal machines to build snow from the streets, without damaging the paving border, alas, without janitors with shovels, it is not necessary to do it: it is they throwing snow from the sidewalk - centimeters at 20-30 so that the technique can work. Yes, and machines for cleaning sidewalks only in the city center. We, on the outskirts of Peter, the sidewalks are cleaning with small wheeled tractors, and join the wipers - with the help of the shovel and the unnown Russian word.
And in the villages, the grader punishes only the main road, and the road from the street to the gate and inside the site should be cleaned by himself. In my country, every winter hangs snow from one to one and a half meters, I do not live in winter there.
