Mezentsev: West does everything to tear Belarus from Russia

Russian Ambassador to Belarus Dmitry Mezentsev said that the West does everything to tear Belarus from Russia. A Russian diplomat spoke on March 2 on the ether of the Belarusian TV channel. The ambassador revealed to what joint projects Moscow and Minsk need to pay attention to successful integration.

"Political integration, rapprochement of Belarus and Russia is the most important factor with which they do not agree in the West, and it is necessary to do everything to tear Belarus from Russia," said Russian Ambassador to Belarus Dmitry Mezentsev on the air of Belarus 1 TV channel on Tuesday.

According to Mezentsev, Western countries would have to invite other states to rapprochement and dialogue with the EU, however, instead, they are "subject to the first plan of threats and reproaches." He noted the dead end of the model to the West model with which one or another partner from the post-Soviet republics should agree.

Mezentsev also remembered the "act of sovereignty, human rights and democracy in Belarus" of the US Congress, according to which the Secretary of State and the National Security Agency should submit a report on the threats to the sovereignty and independence of Belarus by the Government of Russia. In it, including the question of sanctions on a number of officials of Belarus and the Allied State, regardless of their citizenship, should be considered.

The Russian ambassador also commented on the integration of the two countries. According to him, Minsk and Moscow need to pay more attention to joint projects. "We must leave today from the momentary fighting for the benefit for the sale of oil and gas, to sell the successful and competitive products of Belarus, seeking its ... preferential deliveries to those or other regions of Russia," he stressed.

The ambassador also remembered the Belarusian NPP as a successful integration project. "This is a huge, meaningful, really expensive infrastructure facility, very modern. He allowed Belarus to become a country atom, "the Mezentsev emphasized. He also commented on the claims that sound from Lithuania to the Belorussian station. "Is it possible to endlessly criticize the absolutely safe station in the islet, which was very successfully built by Rosatom's state corporation in partnership with its Belarusian colleagues, just because you have no station itself? Probably not, "he said, noting that Beestes today is one of the safest stations in the world.

Recall, on the eve of the president, Alexander Lukashenko spoke about the integration of Russia and Belarus, commenting on the results of the meeting with Vladimir Putin. "Today, the world has changed so much that the conversations that Belarus should be part of Russia or Russia should be part of Belarus, or in general, somehow should merge, creating uniform authorities ... the world has changed so much that it would just be foolish even Work in this direction, "said Lukashenko. According to the Belarusian leader, "there is a sovereign independent state," Belarus will be able to build a more efficient system of relations than being part of Russia.

At the same time, the head of the republic stressed that the context of the Sochi talks "was limited by the framework of the Allied State." Read more about the results of the Sochi negotiations of the presidents of Russia and Belarus in the material "Eurasia.Expert".
