"Political integration, rapprochement of Belarus and Russia is the most important factor with which they do not agree in the West, and it is necessary to do everything to tear Belarus from Russia," said Russian Ambassador to Belarus Dmitry Mezentsev on the air of Belarus 1 TV channel on Tuesday.
According to Mezentsev, Western countries would have to invite other states to rapprochement and dialogue with the EU, however, instead, they are "subject to the first plan of threats and reproaches." He noted the dead end of the model to the West model with which one or another partner from the post-Soviet republics should agree.
Mezentsev also remembered the "act of sovereignty, human rights and democracy in Belarus" of the US Congress, according to which the Secretary of State and the National Security Agency should submit a report on the threats to the sovereignty and independence of Belarus by the Government of Russia. In it, including the question of sanctions on a number of officials of Belarus and the Allied State, regardless of their citizenship, should be considered.
The Russian ambassador also commented on the integration of the two countries. According to him, Minsk and Moscow need to pay more attention to joint projects. "We must leave today from the momentary fighting for the benefit for the sale of oil and gas, to sell the successful and competitive products of Belarus, seeking its ... preferential deliveries to those or other regions of Russia," he stressed.
