Wink in 2020 went to the trajectory of rapid growth, expanding opportunities and audience - Rostelecom summed up the development of video service.
The active audience increased four times due to the new connections and mass transition of the Rostelecom interactive television subscribers on the WINK platform (more than 70% of subscribers migrated).
The conditions for rapid growth were the isolation of people at home because of the pandemic and the active position of the company during this period. Wink first of the video service (March 16, 2020) opened free access to a large collection of domestic and foreign films, TV shows, cartoons and cognitive video conntients. At the same time, the demand for paid films and serials increased. As a result, the number of views of the movies and serials (paid and free) has grown three times compared with 2019.
In April, a unique event was held for the Russian market - for the first time, the fantastic thriller "satellite" came out on digital platforms, including Wink, earlier than in offline cinemas.
