Monaco F1 Racing knocks on the doors of formula 1 13849_1

While ten teams of Formula 1 are preparing for the upcoming season, Monaco has been working on a project that is called Monaco F1 Racing Team.

In the fall of 2019, we already talked about the bold plans of the businessman Salvatore Gandolfo, the founder of the Monaco Increase Management company, specializing in sports management - then he was going to attempt to create a new team of Formula 1 on the basis of the Spanish Campos Racing, serving in the youth series.

According to Racefans, he has already agreed with Monaco's car club, so the name of the project is not chosen by chance and on legal grounds. Two years ago, Gandolfo was aimed at season 2021, because he extended to introduce limited budgets, as well as on the transition to a new technical regulation, which was postponed until 2022.

Although the budgets of the teams already this year should not exceed $ 145 million, in accordance with the new agreement of the consent of each new team will have to pay an "entrance fee" in the amount of $ 200 million, which should be distributed among the ten traditional teams of the championship.

Of course, it creates an additional, and a very significant financial obstacle on the way of any new project, but as recently made Stefano Domenicali, executive director of Formula 1, in certain cases, an exception can be made, and applicants can be exempted from the need to pay such serious money.

Today, Gandolfo has spread a statement in which the readiness of Domenikali to abandon the charge of such a fee and assured that it is going to apply for participation in the championship.

"The Monaco F1 Racing Team project was the first to start actively discussing with the championship leadership the opportunity to arrive in Formula 1, it was back in 2019, the document says in this document. - We believe that the recent statements of the new chapter F1 Stefano Domenicali, who proposed to abandon climbing from new teams of an entrance fee of $ 200 million, can be considered a step in the right direction.

We appreciate the openness of Stefano and FIA and are ready to take the necessary actions to submit our application. "

In any case, no Gandolfo statements can dispel understandable doubts that his project calls, since the creation of a new team of Formula 1 requires enormous financial investments and huge organizational efforts.

Even if you initially count on the experience and infrastructure of Campos Racing, to the level of formula 1 it is very far away - except that Monaco F1 Racing will be able to attract major sponsors and suggests debut in the championship not earlier than three to four years.
