Mitsubishi introduced the Outlander crossover new, fourth, generation. The model of the previous generation appeared back in the distance 2012.
Spy photographs of the prototype turned out to be true: the new generation outlander is indeed performed in the style of the Mitsubishi GT-Phev concept, shown back in 2016. From the model of the outgoing generation, there is no trace of both outside and inside. Appeared already familiar on SUVs and pickles of the company bunk front optics, embossed sidewalls and narrowed rear lights.
Regarding the predecessor, the body was 15 mm longer and now reaches 4,710 mm, the wheelbase has increased by 36 mm and is 2,006 mm. Plus, a novelty is 51 mm (1,862 mm) wider and 38 mm above (1,748 mm). On the platform, the new Outlander is widely unified with Nissan X-Trail: the Renault-Nissan CMF-C / D trolley is also used here.
In the interior of the novelties are used better than the predecessor, finishing materials. There is a multimedia system with a 9-inch display and digital instrument panel with a diagonal of 12.3 inches.
Under the hood Outlander of the new generation is a familiar Nissan 2.5-liter atmospheric Aggregate PR25DD, outstanding 184 hp and 245 nm. The engine is combined with a variator imitating eight virtual gears. Outlander will be available with front and full drive. In the second case, the S-AWC system is applied (Super All-Wheel Control). Of the differences from the Commandments - the Brake AYC electronic complex (Active Yaw Control), capable of changing the vector of thrust using brakes.
In the future, a plug-in hybrid PHEV will appear: this version was the most popular from the past Outlander in Europe. It is in it that the maximum number of Mitsubishi technologies is involved.
First, the new Outlander will be released in the North American market. Interestingly, here the crossover in the basic configuration will have a seven-party salon (2 + 3 + 2).
Orders are already accepted for the fourth generation Mitsubishi Outlander at a price of $ 25,795 (approximately 1,900,000 rubles at the current course). Russia's residents will have to wait until 2022 until the crossover is localized in Kaluga.
