American doctors report an increase in the number of cases of multisystems inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C), complications of COVID-19. In this case, more and more patients are in serious condition or dying. This is evidenced by the official data of the American Disease Control and Prevention Center (CDC), reports Joinfo.com, referring to Seattle Times.

Fears of American doctors

Doctors across America observe a sharp increase in the number of young people with a multisystem inflammatory syndrome or MIS-C. Even more disturbing, according to them, is that more patients are seriously ill, than during the first wave of coronavirus, which alarmed doctors and parents around the world last spring.

The latest CDC data show the development of 2060 cases of the disease in 48 states, including 30 lethal outcomes. The average age of the sick is 9 years, but among patients there are babies and young people under 20 years. The trend began to rise from mid-October 2020.

"Recently, more and more children with MIS-C are faced with serious complications," said Dr. Robert Debiazi, head of the infectious department of the children's National Hospital in Washington. During the first wave of hospitalization, about half of the patients fell into the departments of intensive therapy, she said, and now 80-90% need serious treatment.

So far there is no evidence that the reason for this is the recent surge of coronavirus, and experts say that it is too early to make assumptions about any influence of COVID-19 on the development and aggravation of the syndrome.

Although most young people, even those who seriously fell ill, survived and were discharged home in a relatively healthy state, doctors are not sure if someone has chronic heart problems or other complications in the future.

The symptoms of MIS-C doctors call heat, rash, redness of the eyes and gastrointestinal disorders. But the disease can cause serious problems with the work of the cardiovascular system.

In the meantime, Austrian scientists have shown the world's 3D model of coronavirus. For almost two years they worked on the creation of the three-dimensional photography of SARS-COV-2. What did they do?
