Jeep officially introduced an updated Grand Cherokee with the prefix L. The car received the 3rd range of seats and a number of innovative technologies.
Visually designers of the company tried to stay in the launch of the usual design of the cult SUV. The front of the car is similar to the Grand Wagoneer and is characterized by a more massive hood with a slope of down, reduced elements of a radiator grid consisting of 7 vertical sections, and thin LED strips in horizontal headlights.
Given that the model appeared the 3rd row of seats, it significantly exceeds the usual modification in size. The wheel base reaches 3,091 mm, and the total length is 5,044 mm. For comparison, the wheel base of the usual Cherokee is 2 915 mm, and the total length is 4,820 mm. Thus, the three-dimensional modification has become almost half the meter longer.
In the interior, the change is more than in the exterior - the "long" version salon is highly different from the standard. For example, a new instrument panel appeared, an 8.4-inch touchscreen of a multimedia system or an additional 10.1-inch. In the decoration used more expensive materials: leather, wood and metal. Also in some sets are available chairs with ventilation and adjustment of 16 parameters, a massage and memory function for 5 different profiles.
In the motor line, there are practically no changes. Under the hood, an already familiar 3,6-liter engine V6 with a capacity of 290 forces has been installed on last year's model. You can also set a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 with a capacity of 357 horsepower. A pair with both installations works the same 8-speed automatic transmission. The default drive is an option available as an option.
The list of options is traditional for basic packages: this is a warning about a collision at high speed with emergency braking, detection of the intersection, the retention system in the strip and so on. In the top-optation settings, electronic helpers are already advanced: buyers will be available to the 2nd level autopilot system, a night vision system, a chamber with a 360 degree overview and a driver fatigue recognition system.
So far, Jeep does not reveal the price tag of a three-row Grand Cherokee. He must appear from dealers already in the 1st half of the 2021th, and its cost will be slightly higher than a two-row version, which is available at $ 37,765 (about 2.8 million rubles at the current course).
